The Coaching Tree Behind The "Cantlewz West Coast Spread Trading System"

COACH RALSTON AND COACH WALSH

The foundation behind the CantLewz West Coast Spread Trading System traces back to the original West Coast football philosophy. Before Bill Walsh became famous for the West Coast offense with the San Francisco 49ers, he developed many of those concepts while coaching under legendary head coach John Ralston at Stanford. Ralston was known for building disciplined, structured systems that emphasized preparation, positioning, and execution rather than relying on unpredictable big plays. That coaching philosophy influenced Walsh and ultimately shaped what became the West Coast offense. Years later, I had the opportunity at SJSU to be coached within that same football lineage under Coach Ralston. The emphasis on structure, discipline, and understanding systems left a lasting impact on how I approach strategy and decision making. Financial markets operate in a very similar way. Markets move through structured environments created by institutional supply and demand. When traders understand where those zones exist and how price moves between them, they can position themselves ahead of major moves rather than reacting late. The CantLewz West Coast Spread Trading System applies the same philosophy used in football — structure, timing, and disciplined execution — to trading by combining supply and demand zones, displacement candles, and the CantLewz Trinity framework to identify high-probability opportunities.
